Competitive Spirit

I just came from watching an area contest for Toastmasters.

After watching the contestants for the International Speech Contest, I felt inspired to get back on track with speaking and participate in a future competition.

For all the “touchy-feely”, “everybody is a winner” sentiment abounding in our society today, I find myself positively fueled by competitive spirit. I was awed by the substance and performance of a few of the speakers. Just watching them gave me a feeling of forward movement.

When I watch an outstanding speaker set a high bar, I am inspired to meet it.
