David Bernard-Stevens and I are creating a personal leadership podcast program, where we look at various themes in self-leadership.

Before we can begin to find out what we personally stand for in our lives and as a family, we must first understand how we see ourselves. In this episode, Jane and David explores how we come to believe the things we do about who we are, and what clues we get over the course of our lives that tell us we may have bought into a message that may not be true to our “authenticity”.

I know this is an extremely ambitious topic to cover in one podcast, and I suspect that David and I will continue talking about this in the next podcast.

Some of the key ideas that we talk about in this podcast -

- “acting out” – what could it be telling us?

- what are some assumptions we make about who we are as individuals?

- why David was compelled to leave a successful career as a state senator

- how life is like a beach….

    Hi Jane,

You and David did a nice job covering this topic in a short time frame. My husband and I were talking about it this morning before getting out of bed. We see how our assumptions cause challenges and how we can prevent them from happening. We came up with some very good solutions but eventually got back to our original declarations(you can find them here>> http://tinyurl.com/d7rxax) but I want to thank you and David for speaking on a very important topic that affects most, if not all, human beings.

Good conversation between two clearly intelligent, thoughtful and articulate people. Perhaps now that the query has been framed it would be good to follow up with a few tactical steps to help people identify their own respective likes, dislikes, passions and possible channels of redirection.
